For my last shoot of 2011, I had the privilege of being the baptism photographer for an old friend from Sleepy Hollow High School at beautiful St. Peter’s Church in Yonkers, NY. The original plan was for me to photograph her maternity session, but our schedules simply did not make that possible. That said, I definitely do not have any regrets, as the setting for this baptism was gorgeous. Funny though, since the entire service took place in Spanish, it wasn’t easy anticipating certain portions of the event, but well.. you know me and challenges! 😉 I tightened up the camera strap, made use of what little I remembered from 7th grade Spanish class, and toughed it out. It was a truly a blessing witnessing adorable Evan’s infant baptism. Enjoy the captures!

WAYNE’S HEADSHOTS | HUDSON VALLEY, NY HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHER
Earlier this summer, I had photographed some headshots of Wayne, an actor, and husband to Kim, who is a good friend of mine. It’s funny, because the session was delayed due to some crazy poison ivy, and then we almost had to cancel the second one due to power outage from those freak storms (remember those?). The studio had no electricity, but thankfully, using battery-powered speedlight strobes is something to which I’m accustomed. With the right equipment, and knowledge of using off-camera flash, or OCF, you’re able to recreate a similar look to expensive monolights. For the basics of using OCF, David Hobby, of the Strobist blog is a fantastic resource in taking your flash photography to the next level. Heeeere’s Wayne!
