So for the second year in a row, I had the pleasure of photographing a New Year’s Eve wedding; this time at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, NJ. Erin and Ryan, two wonderful people from Las Vegas, NV. There was no better way to end 2014. From the touching tears and embraces during the ceremony (at the gorgeous modern setting of St. Aloysius Church in Jackson, NJ) to the fun-packed Vegas-themed reception, I felt like I was ready to go a few more hours even though it was well past midnight..;-) Highlights included the Vegas casino-themed centerpieces, a Carlo’s Bakery wedding cake from the Cake Boss, himself, perhaps my favorite best man speech of 2014, watching the Times Square ball drop and countdown to an epic New Year’s kiss, and just a ton of fun had by all. Simply a perfect way to break in my 2015 NJ wedding photography! Thanks also to Haris for adding in terrific shots as well!

Every time a couple books me as their NYC wedding photographer, I get excited, but some stand out in particular. When Sydney and Michael decided they wanted me to take their New York City winter elopement pictures, I was positively ecstatic! As those fortunate enough to live in NY year-round know, there is definitely something just a little more magical about this time of year in Manhattan. I mean, c’mon. Spending time documenting the love between two incredible people from Austin, TX who are getting ready in Park Lane Hotel, overlooking Central Park, with a ceremony in Bethesda Terrace presided by Rev. Lisa Zaro, and going to Rockefeller Center afterward for portraits during Christmas time? Pretty much a NY wedding photographer’s dream. I’m a bit impartial, of course, as Christmas is my favorite holiday, and winter- my favorite season. Speaking as someone purely taking photos, however, it was kind of impossible not to take great ones of this gorgeous Texan couple. Sydney and Michael, who were simply stunning in their wedding attire, and who truly got the full, “New York experience”, with the chilly (but not blistering, thank God) temperature, an impromptu Critical Mass! We even had a cabbie who had probably just arrived from overseas the week before, haha (the GPS he was using was in Chinese). Thankfully, I was sort-of  able to communicate with him, though our natural dialects differed. Either way, we were able to accomplish what we set out to do, which was capture some great shots of these guys! I’m so honored to have been chosen for this, Sydney and Michael, and wish you two all the best on your new life together!!  Enjoy the wedding photos! =)
