Hope you’re all having a fantastic start to 2019 and staying warm! I couldn’t be any happier starting the new year with Shirin and Jeff’s Hennessy Hall Mansion wedding (on the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus) in Madison, NJ. Having been in contact with this couple for much of 2018, I was able to really get to know them, and it’s always such a boon to fully understand each other before the actual wedding day! It’s also always a special honor to be booked as wedding photographer before the actual venue and date are chosen =) Many photographers don’t like shooting in winter since it’s more dreary, there’s less natural light since the sun set sooner, and obviously extremely cold, but I actually LOVE it! Cold means more snuggling (if not for love, for survival, haha), and less hard light from the sun means I have more control with my own light. Plus with these two awesome people, with awesomer chemistry, and a traditional Persian ceremony, the entire day was just a blast from beginning to end. Jeff started getting ready at the Florham Park Wyndham Hotel which is perfectly located right on the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus, where he teaches tennis, and Shirin, a talented photographer, herself, got ready at the Hennessy Hall. It was my first time there, and WOW, what a stunning venue. I definitely hope it isn’t my last. I love shooting mansions, and when a mansion is on the campus of a university, it’s that much better.
