When Sana and Ashu first approached me to shoot their Nikah session at the Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, NY, I was absolutely stoked! For folks who don’t know, a Nikah is the ceremony portion of a Muslim wedding. I love shooting South Asian weddings, which usually consist of extremely long days (usually spanning an entire weekend) of photography coverage, and not a ton of time during actual portraits, so just to have a couple of hours dedicated to shooting portraits after Sana and Ashu’s Nikah ceremony took place, is a dream come true, haha. Sadly, I was unavailable during the day they were planning to have it, but my exceptionally talented associate shooter, Hanel was, and as always, he crushed it! The pre-spring light at the always-beautiful Planting Fields Arboretum was just perfect for this portrait session, and so were Sana and Ashu. Those expressions can’t be faked, folks. I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it- I’m truly so blessed to be able to have such awesome couples as clients. Thanks for the gorgeous shots, Hanel, and congratulations, Sana and Ashu!! Enjoy the photos!
