How do I even begin with this wedding… Setse and Ben, are simply two of the most down-to-earth, smiliest humans you will ever meet. Cliché as it may sound, from our very first Zoom meeting, I could see that they it was truly meant to be for the both of them. One of the really cool, yet understated benefits of my job, is that I’m able to meet such amazing people that I otherwise wouldn’t, and it’s something I will never take for granted! After several years surviving a long distance relationship, the time was finally right for these two Vassar alumni to tie the knot at the place they first met! By the twinkling in their eyes this entire wedding day, you could already feel their love emanating from each other, toward each other.
They got ready for the day quite literally across from each other at the Doubletree in Poughkeepsie, and then headed out to their alma mater, Vassar College, to say their, “I do’s”, at the majestic chapel there. We then took advantage of the perennially beautiful campus there, and hit up some of their favorite spots, laughing and reminiscing the whole way through =) Their reception took place just minutes away at the one and only Grandview in Poughkeepsie… the perfect venue to conclude the evening, with their spanning views of the Hudson River, and Mid-Hudson Bridge! Such cool little details awaited us there, including naming their signature cocktail after their cat, Toulouse, and even a customized temporary tattoo station! So very unique, which is so very on-brand for Setse and Ben, haha.
The day flew by so incredibly fast, as do most when you’re having such a great time. It honestly just felt like I was one of their guests taking photos of them, celebrating their big day, the entire time. Thanks so much to Manny for helping to capture some incredible moments as well, and Lilian, my invaluable assistant as well! Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them!
