Christine and Chuck’s Villa Venezia winter wedding in Middletown, NY was my last wedding shot in 2021, and first posted in 2022. It was glorious with a capital, “G“! Two of the sweetest folks you’ve ever met, and I was so incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to photograph both their Beacon engagement session as well as their amazing nuptials! With their prep locations, ceremony, and awesome reception so close to home (for once) is always so welcome too, haha.
Christine and her bridesmaids got ready at the Middletown Courtyard, right next door, to Chuck, who got ready with his boys at the conveniently adjacent Hampton Inn. The day just couldn’t go more smoothly. After some truly beautiful portraits of Christine in her gorgeous Stella York dress and Jimmy Choo’s, we headed over to the Sacred Heart church in Monroe, NY, where they had their beautiful ceremony, of course including their veil and cord rituals. The fun really started when we reached Villa Venezia just as the light started going down! One thing I love about December weddings is that during the portrait times, it’s easier to control the lighting situations without the challenge of having the sun overhead (as much as I appreciate the challenge, sometimes) 😉
An absolutely stunning new wedding venue, the Barn at Villa Venezia was just wonderful all-around, from the attentive and amenable staff, to the spacious grounds and cathedral ceilings in the reception hall. From the raucous entrances to the sweet tear-jerking/laughter-inducing speeches and even sweeter first dance, it was undeniably an evening to remember. The day was smooth from start to finish, thanks to the wonderful cooperation with super-duo, Project8 handling the cinematography, and my trusty second shooter, Mike Ngo capturing so many wonderful moments. I hope you enjoy the wedding photos as much as we did taking them!
