There’s just something so very special about smaller, intimate weddings. Cheryl and Jan were referred by one of my favorite stunning couples, Merav and Reed (the former, whose infinitely kind words reside on my website’s testimonial section, haha). The wedding day was just an absolute joy from start to finish, as their laid-back personalities truly set the tone from the very beginning. In fact, from the moment we hit our shutters for the first time, to the very end of the night, we never even needed to venture further than the top half of the building! Speaking of which, the Standard in East Village, NYC, with its wide-spanning panoramic rooftop and views all around the city, set the perfect dramatic backdrop for Cheryl and Jan’s momentous day. Being up on the 21st floor, there was a bit of wind which did make for some adorable shots of Cheryl’s veil cooperating with the gusto of a toddler who had his treat taken away. 😉 Of course, this was simply another opportunity to show off her immaculate smile, and her unwavering ability to simply roll it off her back. The portraits were so incredibly easy with these two lovelies, as I didn’t need to do much of anything to get Cheryl and Jan to smile at each other. It was quite honestly, effortless. I secretly wish all my couples were this easy, and I hope the photos aren’t, “garbage” (inside joke, lol)!
